I enjoy cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food I’m cooking.Julia Child

Tomato jam is a funny thing; sweet when you’re expecting salty, savory when you’re expecting sweet. I spread it on a piece of crusty bread and topped it with a fried egg, the gooey yolk sort of swimming into the hot, sweet jam.

There are two types of cuisine I know little to nothing about: Indian and Mexican. Indian means curie and Mexican, peppers…right? However, when it comes to guacamole, call me an expert. And just to be clear, I mean an expert at eating it, not making it. I figure it’s about time I learn how to prepare it myself!
I stumbled across this recipe - it had me at garlic salt. Let’s give it a try.
Texas Guacamole
It takes less than 5 minutes to make from start to finish, and it’s delicious with chips, tacos, burritos, nachos, on a burger…
- One large Hass Avacado, cubed and then smushed a little
- One small vine ripe tomato, cubed
- One tbs chopped cilantro
- One seeded (or not if your from Texas like me and like it spicey) jalapeno, chopped
- Small sqeeze of lemon juice
- Garlic salt to taste
Stir to combine and enjoy! This is enough for 2-3 people.
